Channing Tatum, George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton and Jonah Hill. Enough said, really. I didn’t know much about this movie, but I was impressed buy this cast as soon as I saw it. I know the majority of you (female and some male readers) are mostly excited about Channing, but that’s not the case here! The one who caught my attention is Ralph Fiennes who is one of my favorite actors. #TeamVoldemort. Anyway, we’re not here to talk about Ralph, but rather his new film Hail, Caesar!
Hail, Caesar! is a comedy about a Capitol Pictures exec who also works as a “fixer” to keep his stars’ scandals out of the press. Therefore, he often has to fend off inquiries from two twin sisters who rival gossip columnists. Mannix’ production’s big production is Hail, Caesar!, which is a movie about ancient Rome and where one of the cast members gets drunk and abducted. This means that Mannix has to deal with a lot more than just the fix.
The movie is set in the 1950s, which was a transitional time for the film industry. Creating movies such as Roman epics or westerns was Hollywood’s escapism from the Cold War and the Red Scare.
The movie premiered on February 1, and I personally can’t wait to see it. I’m expecting a lot of laughs, good acting, Channing Tatum singing, and simply a relaxing and entertaining movie.
